Stencil Patterns and Color Bring Personality To Your Home Décor!

Welcome back, my DIY stenciling friends!  It’s no secret that Cutting Edge Stencils totally believes that using stencils is the perfect way to put your personal stamp on a space.  When you are designing your home, you select home décor that represents your taste and personality.  Making a conscious effort to design your space according to your personality can actually make you feel more comfortable and happier!  We can’t think of a better way to do that than with a stencil pattern.  To prove our point, we’re going to take a quick jog down memory lane…

Remember when we shared a sneak peak into Skinny Meg‘s playfully eclectic stenciled home?  We loved how Meg oozed positive energy and her home truly represented her playful, eclectic nature. Meg painted our Polka Dot stencil in  Sherwin Williams Rhinestone in her master bedroom.  She also used our Brocade No. 1 Stencil to create an accent wall in her dining room and make the room sparkle with personality.  You can read the full post here but we loved the way she used our stencil patterns to bring out her personality.

And we can’t forget the time we toured Kelle and Nick’s home, which they described as classic with a hint of vintage whimsy.   They painted our Trellis Allover Stencil in their living room using a black and white color combination.  It’s a very intricate design to begin with and by using the high contrasting colors they’ve further accentuated the design. “I know some people find all the pattern a little crazy,” Kelle says, “but I need that.”   We’re happy that our stencils can make Kelle happy every time she walks into her living room!

See we told you that a stencil pattern can make your room burst with character!  Up next is a fab DIY blogger who felt inspired to design her dining room based on her favorite colors and fabric patterns.

We’d like you to meet Tara the creative DIY blogger behind The Domestic Junkies.  Tara recently took us on a tour of her vibrant dining room.  When she bought her house it was a big white box which is an awesome start for someone with a creative imagination like Tara.  She knew she wanted to paint a stencil in the dining room.  She says, “A stencil is the perfect option for someone who loves wallpaper but either cannot afford it, or is afraid of the commitment.”  Tara was also in love with this purple Madeline Weinrib Ikat fabric and wanted to replicate the design.  She chose our Ikat Samarkand Stencil and decided to paint it using Olympic byzantine purple.  Tara was extremely happy with her stenciling project  “because it really couldn’t have turned out more perfect.”  We love how Tara’s stenciled dining room is bursting with charm!
